With the end of another year quickly approaching (how did that happen anyway?), we wanted to send you one last Product Update from 2021, and to say, from the bottom of our hearts once again …. thank you.

Thank you for being our partners in these ever-changing times. In the midst of the tough problems you’re tackling, you chose us to help you support your people operations as you build a better company. We hope to have made your work life a little better 👍🏼 and are committed to keeping those efforts going in 2022.

With that in mind, we have three things to tell you about before you close the books on this year:

  1. Emails, meet Outbox

  2. Sapling's getting a new look\

  3. Transition to Admin-only support

Read on to find out what’s new!

1. Emails, meet Outbox 🎉

Next time you open Sapling, you might notice something different in your navigation menu: the menu formerly known as Emails is now called Outbox.

We know emails play an integral part in how your people programs run, and wanted to give you some extra information about how they’re working.

Now, in addition to the list of Scheduled and Sent emails, you’ll have new information 📊in Outbox Insights. We added some metrics as part of our ongoing efforts to help you better support your teams.

Always wondered if your teams are *actually* reading your emails 🤨? Wonder no more.

Outbox Insights shows you the impact of your messages so you can improve them if they’re not having the reach or the effect you intend.

Check it out for yourself with the Product Tour you'll see the next time you log into Sapling, or read through our new Knowledge Base article.

We also added some built in feedback options, so you can fill out a short survey if you want, or simply let us know what you think with a quick 👍🏼 or 👎🏼.

2. Sapling’s getting a new look 💇🏽‍♀️

There are people who love surprises 🥳, people who hate them 😱, and people who fall somewhere in the middle 😑. And while we’re definitely on board with surprises that come with cake and presents, we also realize that unexpected change can be disruptive.

That’s why we're giving you a heads up that Sapling is going to start looking a little different over the next few weeks. We’re sprucing up our user interface, and you might notice some small updates. Nothing too drastic.

You might see rounded corners on your buttons instead of the rectangles you’re used to. Like this:

Or maybe a new font. Like this:

We’re sorry we couldn’t include cake 🍰 and presents along with these changes, but we hope you enjoy them anyway.

3. Transition to Admin-only Support effective January 1, 2022

You might have already received an email from us, but we wanted to make sure you didn’t miss it somehow. As you know, our mission is to help you build a better company, and we feel we can best do that by changing the way we provide amazing customer support. Starting in January, we’ll provide direct support only to those users like you, who have Admin or Super Admin 🦸🏽‍♀️ level permissions.

Why are we doing this? Well, we want to make sure that everyone plays to their strengths 💪🏼. You’re good at solving your team’s internal questions, and we’re good at solving your platform questions. 🤝

A couple of things won’t change. You’ll still have access to the same great Help Center: our Knowledge Base, ticketing system, and support agents. The only difference is that your team members won’t be able to contact our support team directly.

We know they might still have questions, so to help you out, we created a section in our Knowledge Base called Sapling for Employees that includes content related to your team’s most common questions. And your team members who are also people managers, can reference the articles in the Knowledge Base that cover Managing your team with Sapling.

We’re excited about this change and look forward to continuing to support your people operations. If you’re curious to find out more, you can always reach out to your Customer Success Manager.

👀 In case you missed it

For our customers in the US, our Senior Product Manager, Phil Corson along with Chief Legal HR Expert at Mineral, Kara Govro, hosted an informational webinar: Decoding the OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) and How Sapling Can Help.

We know this is a complicated issue in the United States, and that the ETS is being challenged by various individual states. But if you’re looking for information about how Sapling can help you build, communicate, and implement a vaccination policy regardless of the political climate, check out the recording, our Knowledge Base article, or get more information at our new Resources Center.
