This month, we wanted to give you some improvements that should make your life a little bit easier. I have four integration enhancements to tell you about, new self-service bulk data upload tools, more options for your Calendar feeds, and some ideas for you if you’re thinking about how you might roll out a vaccination policy.

1. Integrations, integrations, integrations.
It’s complicated - your HR tech stack, that is. We know, and that’s why we’re always working on expanding our integrations so we can make your life just that little bit simpler. This month, I want to give you a few updates on four of our existing integrations:
Improved field mapping: Paylocity and Lever
When I talk to colleagues in Canada or the UK, we’re all speaking English, but sometimes still have trouble understanding what’s being said. (Who knew a beanie 🇺🇸 was the same thing as a toque 🇨🇦?)
My point is, words matter, in work conversation and in integrations! We’ve updated both our Paylocity and Lever integration setup flows to help you map fields in Sapling with those two solutions.
For Paylocity customers: revisit your integration setup if you’d like to map your Sapling Groups (Location, Department, etc.) to Paylocity Cost Centers.
For Lever customers: revisit your integration setup if you’d like to adjust the Lever source of your Sapling job title, department, start date, and more.
So if you want to translate field names between solutions, or call an “elevator” 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇬🇧 a “lift”, go right ahead! We’ll all know what you mean.
Updates to user deprovisioning and groups: G Suite
There are two changes to our G Suite integration that should help you keep things on track a bit more easily.
The first change is going to let you deprovision *all* your users, even if they weren’t provisioned in Sapling. I know keeping track of the folks who were provisioned in Sapling and who weren’t might have entailed some Post-it Notes, a Google Sheet, or even a good old-fashioned list. And as much as I appreciate pen and paper, I wanted to make things simpler for you. Now, you can deprovision everyone through Sapling, no matter where they started.
We’ll also run a retroactive sync 🗓 to make sure this change applies to your entire team.
Our second G suite integration update reflects changes you might make to Google Groups 👩🏼🦰👱🏽♂️🧑🏻👨🏾🦱. When you update your Google Groups in G Suite, you want to make sure they’re synced across all your solutions, and now Sapling enables you to do exactly that.
Deleting a Google Group in G Suite makes it inactive in Sapling, removing it from your list during Onboarding.

More user updates: Deputy
You’ll notice more user management automation if you’re using Deputy for time and attendance scheduling.. The integration now links users between Deputy and Sapling based on company email address so your updates, rehires and offboards flow from Sapling to Deputy regardless if the user existed before the integration was enabled. No more manual tracking and work!
2. Self Service Bulk Data Uploads: updating team member data in a snap
We all need help sometimes 🤝, but it’s also nice to do things for ourselves.
Our latest update to help you become even more efficient is a Self Service Upload, which gives you the option to accurately and efficiently upload *your own data files*. That way, you can insert or update team member records whenever you want.
With this feature, you can:
Download a CSV template based on your company’s tables and fields
Use a CSV to create new profiles for existing team members (e.g. after an acquisition or merger)
Use a CSV to update field values on current team member profiles (e.g. adding data from your latest benefit enrollment)
Note: This is kind of a superpower, so the Upload Data option is available *only* to SuperAdmins 🦸🏽♀️. You’ll find all the details of this feature in our Knowledge Base article,
3. Calendar Feed (In)Visibility 🥷🏻
We’re big fans of birthdays 🎂 over here, but know some folks would rather keep the celebrations to a minimum. That’s why you now have more options when it comes to displaying your Calendar Feeds, even if your company isn’t using Sapling’sTime Off module.
Now, you can choose to enable calendar feeds for Work Anniversaries and Birthdays under Platform Settings.
If these fields are toggled “Off”, your team won’t have the option to create a birthday or anniversary calendar feed. When toggled “On”, your team can create calendar feeds for these events from their personal menu or from the Calendar feature itself.

4. Immunization Tracker 💉
COVID-19 continues to make work environments challenging for all of us. One of the questions I’m hearing from a lot of you is how to safely bring your people back to the office 😷. If you’re just starting to think about this issue, check out our recent blog post, which outlines some of the ways you might implement a vaccination policy.
I also wanted to let you know that Sapling has a number of ways you can track immunization status, create COVID-19 testing workflows, allow for specific vaccination time off policies, and store documents safely. It can help you manage the process with technology, letting you put the focus on your people where it belongs.
